First time log in
Log in on the Unix system can be done with the command
ssh in a terminal window, or with a special client connecting to a virtual remote desktop.
- Whatever login method you prefer, all users must start with adding Unix account to Authenticator App and do a ssh log in test.
- If you later want to use a virtual desktop, read about it here NXInnlogging.
Changing password
Changing password is only possible on the server
pw.ux.uis.no. To change password, first
SSH into on one of the login servers, then SSH into pw with
ssh pw. When on pw, run the command
passwd. You will be asked for your current password, and then twice for the new password, nothing will be printed to screen during password typing. If the new password is accepted, wait 10 minutes for it to become active on all servers. (pw is a special server and should be used only for changing password, nothing else please.)
